Built in 1811, this Grade II listed Teesdale farmhouse was privately bought in 2012 by Redfern's client. The new owner set upon the task of undertaking a sympathetic full refurbishment & extension in keeping with the building's character.
After drawings having been produced and Listed Building consent obtained, the new owner instructed Redfern Building Services Ltd to start work on site in April 2017.
Despite being London based, Redfern's client embarked upon project managing all works herself with a strict ethos of reusing as many materials as possible and using reclaimed materials where feasible.
Located in the beautiful but harsh climate of the North Pennines, this project had all but the kitchen sink thrown at it. With hard effort from everyone involved, the project has since been delivered on time and on budget.
